Grades A252 and AM 252
Continuous fibre carbon tissues are joined together using a needling technique. A pyrocarbon infiltration process enhances the material strength. This process yields composite structures which are then used to produce cylindrical or plane electric heaters.
The AM252 variant uses a multiaxial continuous fibre tissue. It is used to improve the mechanical strength of the composite in the manufacture of high temperature threaded fasteners or structural components in ovens.
Grade A412
A mat is produced by a mechanical joining process using a carbon felt and short carbon fibres. It is then infiltrated with pyrocarbon. The resulting material is very strong, with low porosity. It can be precision machined owing to a very fine structure. Ideal for high precision, high temperature threaded fasteners.
Grade A035
This grade consists of long fibres distributed randomly in all directions, then densified with a pyrocarbon matrix. It offers almost isotropic thermal properties. It is a material of choice for nuclear fusion type applications.
Grade A412N
A composite specially designed to reinforce thermal conductivity. This material is ideal for heat dissipation at a high temperature, especially innuclear fusion applications.
